Question 1
Multiple choice
Domain 1 / Task 1.2 Outline Gen AI capabilities in Snowflake
A support team wants one chat interface that answers questions like "How many tickets were opened last month for the Pro plan?" from a ticket table and "What did customers say about the new login flow?" from the ticket text. Some questions need both. Which Snowflake component should the team build on?
Show answerHide answer
Answer: A
Why
Cortex Agents are built for questions whose answers combine SQL results over a semantic view with retrieval from text: the agent plans, calls the Analyst and Search tools it selected, and reflects on their results before answering. Analyst alone covers the counts and Search alone covers the text; neither answers the questions that need both.
Why not the others
BPassing a whole table in each prompt runs into the context window and gives up the SQL and retrieval tools built for this.
CCortex Search retrieves text; it does not aggregate rows into counts.
DCortex Analyst generates SQL over structured data; it is not a retrieval layer for free text.
Domain 2 / Task 2.2 Perform data analysis given a use case
A company's internal help center runs on a Cortex Search service whose source query includes each article's text and its UPDATED_AT timestamp. When a policy is revised, the older article on the same subject often still ranks above the revision. The team wants recently updated articles to rank higher at query time, while older articles still appear in the results. What should the team add to its queries?
Show answerHide answer
Answer: B
Why
Time decays boost results by a date or time column, and the boost fades for timestamps more than limit_hours before the reference time, which is the current time by default. Revised articles move up while older ones stay in the results. A boost or decay column must be included when the service is created, as UPDATED_AT is here.
Why not the others
ANumeric boosts are for numeric columns such as likes or clicks; a date or time column takes a time decay.
CA filter removes older articles from the results instead of ranking them lower.
DTurning off the reranker lowers query latency at some cost to relevance; it adds no recency signal.
A hotel group stores 2 million guest reviews written in English, French and German. For every review, managers want the guest's sentiment toward the room, the staff and the price as separate results, plus an overall reading. A review that never mentions the price must be told apart from one that mentions it in a neutral way. Which call fits?
Show answerHide answer
Answer: C
Why
With a categories array, AI_SENTIMENT returns an overall record plus one record per aspect, each labeled positive, negative, neutral, mixed or unknown. The label unknown means the aspect is not mentioned, while neutral means it is mentioned without a positive or negative tone. The function handles English, French and German text, and accepts up to ten aspects of at most 30 characters each.
Why not the others
AAI_SUMMARIZE_AGG returns one text summary for each group, not a labeled result for each review.
BAI_SIMILARITY returns one similarity score between two inputs, not a sentiment for each aspect.
DThe legacy SENTIMENT function returns one overall score from -1 to 1 for English-language text, with no per-aspect results.
Domain 3 / Task 3.2 Grant and revoke RBAC and privileges
Developers use the role AGENT_DEV, which holds SNOWFLAKE.CORTEX_AGENT_USER and USAGE on the database APPS and the schema APPS.AGENTS. They must be able to create new permanent agents in APPS.AGENTS and to change the instructions of SUPPORT_BOT, an existing agent in that schema owned by the PLATFORM role. Which two grants are needed? Choose two.
Show answerHide answer
Answers: D and E
Why
Creating an agent requires the CREATE AGENT privilege on the schema, and MODIFY on an agent permits updating it, including its instructions, and dropping it. The role already has USAGE on the database and schema and a database role that gives access to Cortex Agents.
Why not the others
AMONITOR lets a role view the agent's threads, logs and traces; it does not permit changes.
BCORTEX_USER gives access to all covered AI features, including calling agents; it grants no privilege to create or change an agent.
CUSAGE lets a role query the agent to generate responses, not change it.
A nightly AI_EXTRACT job reads scanned insurance claim forms from an internal stage that uses server-side encryption and writes each form whose extraction failed or scored low to a review table. The reviewers work in an external ticketing tool, have no Snowflake logins, and need a link in each ticket that opens the source PDF in a browser for 48 hours. Which expression should the job store for each form?
Show answerHide answer
Answer: A
Why
GET_PRESIGNED_URL returns a pre-signed URL that can be opened directly in a web browser. Its third argument is the expiration time in seconds, 3600 by default; 172800 is 48 hours, within the 7-day maximum that applies to this stage. The function requires server-side encryption on the stage, and on an internal stage the role that calls it needs the READ privilege.
Why not the others
BA scoped URL is valid for the caller who generated it, and only until the persisted query result period ends, currently 24 hours.
CA file URL does not expire, but Snowflake authenticates the user and checks the role's privileges on the stage each time it is used.
DTO_FILE returns a FILE value for use in SQL and AI functions, not a link a browser can open.
The study bundle has two practice exams with 110 original questions, an answer key and an explanation for every answer, plus the 61-page study guide. Practice exam explanations are shorter than the ones on this page: a short paragraph per question, with no source links.
